Surgery Memories
May 4, 2017
Today, I am writing from my room at the Ronald McDonald house in Iowa City, My son Adrian who has Down Syndrome had the oil bubble removed from his only good eye that he can see out of. It has been one doctor appointment after another here lately. I lost my job do to so many absences form work taking care of my son and his medical needs. The last job was at Meskwaki Bingo Casino Hotel. I was not employed there long enough to qualify for FMLA. It sucks but my son eyesight is more important than a job.
I am hoping that this will be the last surgery that my son has to have. All went well yesterday. I hope that I get the job at R.E.M. of Iowa in Marshalltown Iowa, It will be a overnight shift, so I will be sleeping days and working nights, I pray I get the job my money in my savings is not going to last much longer. Not with having to pay bills and buy food.
