Growing up in the Rural. town of St. Anthony

This was the house I grew up in, the town that it is in is St. Anthony, Iowa. The house has had some changes to it, but the upstairs window area, was mine and my sisters' bedroom. When I was going up there was know fence. Looking at it is sad in a way to see thew changes that have been done to it. Why a fence in such a small town it makes the friendly house I grew up in look so unfriendly now.
This is a picture of the woods in the back of the house I remember playing in. I had a lot of fun dreaming of being in Sherwood forest. Robin Hood was a childhood hero of mine. I have and still am interested in Kings, Queens, knights  type stuff. Ancient history I enjoy.
This is the area that our neighbors The Eastons' lived. I remember getting together with the neighborhood kids to play a game of softball or kickball in the summer time.  I can also remember building snow forts on the curb of the road to have snowball fights. It was a lot of fun.

This is the Church yard where I remember once in a while having a ice cream social in the summer time. Homemade Ice Cream at that. I also was Baptized in that Church at the age of 12 years old if my memory serve me correctly.

I can remember making a 2 mile bike ride with my purple sting-ray bike I had to Clemons and back. Why just to have something to do. On a summer day.
