Adrian eye Doctor appointments

May 22, 2017:Update: Today Adrian had an eye dr. appointment down in Iowa City. He is doing good, his medications have been changed a little. and he does not have to go back for 6 weeks. I find this extremely good since I will be starting a new job. Orientation is Tuesday and Wednesday. I am happy. God is my provider and his timing is perfect,

Books I am reading

The books are that I am reading are as follows: Lamentation, by Ken Scholes  I find this book to be  a book for an advanced adult reader, the main reason is because each chapter is broken up into different parts, The parts are the main characters in the book. These characters are Rudolfo, Petronus, Jin Li Tam, Neb. It is a confusing piece of work to read because of the way it bounces around from Rudolfo, to maybe Jin Li Tam, to Neb and to Petronus. In every chapter it does this throughout the book. I am beginning to think that each of these names represent the ruler over a particular area.  I am on Chapter 9, I hope that I will get it finished before I have to return it to the Library. The genre is Science Fiction with a total of 32 chapters. From what I have read so far there is fighting going on. Futuristic fighting, but the cover shows men on horses.     As I continue with my reading of Lamentation in chapter 12 a new character is introduced...

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children book and the movie

In the movie Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children,  Emma was the one that would float away if she was not anchor down. But in the book Emma was the one that could start a fire is she so desired by just the touch of her hands. The book is more in depth when it come to telling a story. In the book Millard the invisible boy get shot, but in the movie they leave that out. In the book Miss Peregrine does not recover as quickly so therefore is forced to remain in bird form. In the movie Miss Peregrine is completely recovered and is standing on a high platform looking out to where the ship that the children had raised from the depth of the sea to rescue Miss Peregrine from her captors. Then Miss Peregrine turns into a bird an flies toward the ship.     In the book, the children leave the island that was there home in canoes. The next book, The Hollow City takes over their adventurous story.

Raising a child with down syndrome is challenging, with all the doctor appointments and surgeries, a child with down syndrome might have to have. But I would not trade it for all the money in the world. My son has taught me so much from day one. The two things that my son has taught me was one to have faith in God and to trust him completely with the welfare of not only my son Adrian but my other children and grandchildren as well. The second thing my son Adrian taught mew was to have patience. For patience is the key to raising a child with Down Syndrome, really it applies to any child that might have special ...

Surgery Memories

May 4, 2017 Today, I am writing from my room at the Ronald McDonald house in Iowa City, My son Adrian who has Down Syndrome had the oil bubble removed from his only good eye that he can see out of. It has been one doctor appointment after another here lately. I lost my job do to so many absences form work taking care of my son and his medical needs. The last job was at Meskwaki Bingo Casino Hotel. I was not employed there long enough to qualify for FMLA. It sucks but my son eyesight is more important than a job. I am hoping that this will be the last surgery that my son has to have. All went well yesterday. I hope that I get the job at R.E.M. of Iowa in Marshalltown Iowa, It will be a overnight shift, so I will be sleeping days and working nights, I pray I get the job my money in my savings is not going to last much longer. Not with having to pay bills and buy food.
