Books I finished in December

Image
This Book is about a young woman named Reisil, in her village that she grew up in, she became a Tark (Doctor). Reisil was chosen by the Bessed Lady to be ahalad-kaaslane. At first Reisil resisted the calling. But finally she decided to give in so that she could enter the gates of Kodu Riik, which was closed due to a Patverseme princess by the name Ceriba being kidnapped. This book is filled with alot of action as Resiil and a small band of her companions set out to rescue Ceriba the patverseme princess. I throughly enjoyed this book. Woods I Have Visited this Summer 2018

Image
This is up at Pine Ridge Park in Steamboat Rock Iowa, It looks like the Fae have been hard at work preserving this old tree. Below is another interesting area very peaceful. I believe that fairies could be living here. We humans just can not see them unless we decide to use our mind's eye. The is at Steamboat Rock,        Gladbrook State park Using my mind's eye I can see a fairy in this photo. The fairy I see is bent over slightly and it looks like the fairy is holding a rake.

What Raising a Child With Down Syndrome is like for me.

Image
Raising children is a hard job for any parent, one does not take a class in school on how to be a parent. Children differ so much, some might have very strong-willed personalities where others are more laid back. But, since I believe that the Bible is a book that was written as a guide to us humans that was  inspired by God. One is not with out help at raising even the most trying child.    Raising a child with Down Syndrome has its own challenges that are different from raising a typical child. One of the biggest challenges and sometimes the scariest is medical. At five month's of age Adrian under went his first operation. It was on his heart, he had and AV Canal repair done. Before his surgery he was on heart medication and his formula was a scoop more per ounce. I was so scared for I was fearful that I would wake up and fine that he had died during the night. That could be why I am such a light sleeper now.  He came out of heart surgery with flying ...

Coming Forward in Time

I have talk about past things some good times as well as some bad times. Now I am moving ahead, I have made bad choices in my life, But through those bad choices I have been blessed. I have six beautiful children each of them are unique and hold a special place in my heart. Not one could replace the other. I also have been blessed with seven grandchildren, that I love more than what they may know. I am thankful, for technology that we have today, this way I can watch them grow even if it is from a  distance, back when I was growing up grandparents did not have that available to them. So I feel fortunate that I have this opportunity. Things I hope to be able to accomplish this summer. Going camping at Neola, Ia and possibly go hiking and paddleboating Going to the Omaha zoo saving money to get my waterline fix

Going Back in Time at 59 Years Part 3

As I sit hear reflecting back to my childhood, I mentioned stuff that happen that was negative. I want to get something straight up front, and that is I am not looking for any feed back from anyone nor am I looking for someone to sympathized with me. Because, this is my story, it has nothing to do with my siblings, it has to do with me and how I perceived my childhood, for not everyone memories are the same. Well, enough said on that, it is getting off the path so back on to what I was talking about.   Some of the good things about my childhood, was the summer trips we went on, I remember visiting Mark Twain's childhood home which was in Hannibal Mo. I also remember visiting a cave along the Mississippi river, that was said to have been visited by none other than Mark Twain himself. It is one place I hope to visit again. I also remember going to rodeos. I remember camping in the car on these trips. I remember a couple of times that we when to Sidney, Ia, to the ...

Going Back in Time at 59 Years Part 2

The more I sit and think back to my childhood, the more I wonder how I made it this far. What I am trying to say is that I did not feel like a normal child. I use to handle the turmoil, that was a part of my childhood, by believing that maybe this is not really my family, and I was just placed with this group of people for my protection, because I am really a princess or someone of importance from a different land. Mind you, I was trying to figure out why I was being fought over so much.  Fighting over a child is costly to the child's mental health. Children are people and not property. Children love both parents and both sides of their family. I know for a fact that it is wrong to put down a child's last name or that family. That is what my mother did to me, she would run down the Roberts name. I do not believe she realized at the time, what she was doing. I personally do not or want to believe that she was deliberately running me down. Having siblings has help me in ...

Going Back in Time at 59 Years

I grew up in a small town in Marshall County Iowa. I lived in the north part of town, in the back of my home, there was a small area that was full of trees. I loved to play back in those trees, when I was a child. I could imagine all sort of adventures that I was on, for instance being maid Marian from the Adventures of Robin Hood  or Jane from Tarzan. Tarzan was my hero, As a child I was thrilled when I was able to get a little golden book with Tarzan. I also picked mushrooms in between my house  and the neighbors house. We had a big garden out back in the summer time. As a child I also rode my purple sting-ray all over town. One of the things, I use to do is ride my bike down the three steps that was going from the street to the Christian Church, There were two churches back than the Christian Church and the Catholic Church. When I was real small around 5 years I remember seeing women in long black gowns, walking up the street from the first house I lived in. I want to say...

My New Job

I will be starting to work at my new job on Monday Feb. 19, 2018 orientation. From what I have seen from going in an having my TB check. I believe that I will like it. So far the people I have met seem  friendly and  happy to be doing what they are doing. Well, today Sunday I found out that it is going to rain, I hope it stays warm enough so it does not freeze. I do not like driving on icy roads. But I am excited to be going back to work. February 19, 2018, was the first day at my new job. It consist of mainly paperwork, and a video that lasted two hours. The day was very foggy. Second day of orientation was good, I have a lot to remember, I was a little worried that I would have trouble getting to work because of freezing rain. but I made it. Today, I hope that I will be able to take a fews notes on the when things are done.

Starting a New Job

When a person starts a new job it can seem very scary,  one might be afraid if they will fit in or not. A present worker at the job sight can make the transition more easy for a new employee if the person is friendly to the new employee. Another thing that helps is if the person that is training does so under the guidelines of the job, no short cuts should be used. Another thing that helps a new employee is if the other employees that have been there for sometime has a positive attitude. It is no fun going to work when everyone else acts as if they do not want to be there. I look at being able to work as a privilege, why it is simple not everyone that wants to work can not. So be happy that you have a job. And if you do not like the job than do something about it and find a job that you like.  I know this is short but it is all I have to say.
