Things that are of interest to me

Today I had to take my son Adrian to Iowa City. He had to get and MRI done. And since he has Down Syndrome, they decided to put him to sleep. He had to have a MRI done since at the beginning of the school year he had a seizure, While down in Iowa City I met another woman down there with her 14 year old special needs son, He was there because he has cancer. So I ask since I am going to share this post that you will keep this young man in your prayers. I am also going to insert a picture of my son in this post. Well, good news my son's MRI that he had done over Christmas break came back with no abnormality. The Seizure he had must have been a one time thing. I am very thankful for that since my son has to face a lot of challenges. His biggest challenge I can see is communication. I do not think the school personal really knows how he is to communicate either.What will become of my son if he doesn't have a way to communicate effectively with society. Studying Human Services will give me an opportunity to help people. I really want to be able to make a difference in an other person life. I have two children that have case managers. Even though I fine myself a little annoyed at my youngest son case manager wanting to make home visits, I do realize that she isn't out to hurt me or my family but to make it better for us. With the knowledge that she has she can find the sources to help my son. I choose green because green means go. 

I have always wanted to go to college, but I was afraid of not being good enough material. Not having what it takes to do college work. I was attending college at UNI, but I found that being on campus was not a good fit for me. I felt so alienated, from most of the students, I suppose that it was due to my age. In one class that was suppose to be easy was hard, because the teacher of that class would not take the time to give me any help. I guess she thought I was just to old. I hope that I can take online classes through BVU. I decided I want to major in Human Services. If, my daughter can bomb out at UNI and can go to BVU , I do not see why I can not do the same.
